Squshy Cookie Goes to School

0

Today is a monumental day for my family.

My baby brother moved into his dorm, for his first year of college.

I guess he’s not so much my baby brother anymore. But I think I’ll always see him that way.

It seems like just yesterday I walked him to the bus stop for the first time, on his first day of kindergarten.

It was the only year that we both went to the same school at the same time. I remember feeling so protective over him. Nobody would be able to mess with him; I was a big 6th grader and would look out for him no matter what the cost. He would always have a bus buddy to sit with if he wanted. He would always remember his lunch. I would have gone to bat for that little man, and I still would now.

Although now, he may be just a tad bit stronger than me. Maybe.

I’m proud of you Preston. For the brother that you’ve been, the friend that you are, and the man you are becoming.

And yeah, yeah, I know. I am way more emotional and mushy-gushy about all this than you’d probably like.

But hey, I can’t help it. I’ve only got one “Bubba” and you’re a pretty cool kid.

Here’s to four unforgettable, fun, and life changing years!

 P. S. I felt now would be an appropriate time to share your song that Julie and I wrote you when you were a mere babe. Here is goes:

“Squshy, squshy, you little tiny cookie

Shining from the top, top, top.

Yay, yay, yay. Yay, yay, yay!

Squshy, squshy, you little tiny cookie

Shining from the top, top, top.

Yay, yay, yay. Yay, yay, yay..

Squshy cookie, squshy cookie, squshy cookie, squshy cookie,

Shinning from the top top top.

Do do-do-do-doo, DO DO! Woo!”

Okay…maybe I didn’t have the best song writing skills. But you did kind of look like a squshy cookie….
