What is better than waking up on a sunny Friday morning and knowing that tomorrow you can sleep in and relax and wear comfy clothes all day if your heart so desires??
Maybe Friday at 5:00pm is better because your work day is over and the weekend has officially begun.
Or maybe chocolate chip cookies on a sunny Friday is better.
Either way, its Friday and I am so darn happy about it.
What are your plans for Thanksgiving?? Going out of town, cooking for two, crashing at your parent’s house?
All I’ve been thinking about this week is yummy Thanksgiving recipes. I’ll be helping my mommy cook our share of the meal to bring to my in-law’s house and I keep thinking, traditional stuffing or cornbread-sausage stuffing? Regular mac n’ cheese or pumpkin mac n’ cheese? Good old pumpkin pie or pumpkin chocolate chip cookie pie?

When it comes to the holidays, I’m usually insistent that my family carries on our old traditions each year. If we deviate from that I get very upset. Very. I used to make my mom place her Christmas decorations in the exact same place as the year before, every year. I left no room for creativity. Sorry Mom.
But when it comes to cooking, I’m always looking up new, delicious recipes that tempt me to stray from the traditional. And I think this year, some of the new, different recipes might win out.
If I had it my way, I would have spent this past week trying out some of these new recipes in my kitchen as a “trial run” and an excuse to eat Thanksgiving food for two weeks straight. I would have kept my apron on all day and cooked and baked till my legs and feet just couldn’t stand any longer.
But alas, my reality has kept me merely dreaming about trying them out and living vicariously through food bloggers. So I guess I won’t know how these new recipes will taste until Thanksgiving Day itself. But I’m thinking it’s worth the gamble.
I’ll let you know how they turn out.
P.S. – Has anyone planned out their table centerpiece? Omgee don’t even get me started on that one.
