Thank the Lord for Mommies

0

Today we celebrate some of the women in our lives who mean the most to us: our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and women who have become like family. Without women in our lives, we would miss out on a lot of wisdom, love, home cooked meals, and tenderness. They fill the world with unspeakable joy, beauty, and motherly guidance. These women change our lives for the better; teaching and training us to become all we can be, and believing in us against all odds. Today I am thanking the Lord for all mothers around the world, and all the women who have stepped up to mother those who are without their own. What a treasure and blessing they are.

Here are some of the women most important in my life and how we celebrated them:

Our mothers, enjoying their pink grapefruit margaritas

My little helper in the kitchen. We cooked a scrumptious meal for the moms and gave them a break for once :).
Grilled garlic and prosciutto bread

Pink Grapefruit Margaritas

Roasted Veggies

A virgin drink for the little one

Matt’s steak. This was his kind of meal.

Momma Worthley

For the momma-to-be. This little girl is breaking my bank, and she’s not even born yet! It’s just too fun to shop for her :).

My “kinetic soul” 😉

Momma and her ducklings.

Can’t wait to meet you baby C!

My menu for our lunch was:

Fruit kabobs: I used pineapple, strawberries, and grapes. But any fruit will do!

Roasted veggies: I used red & yellow peppers, zucchini, squash, red onion, fresh thyme, kosher salt and ground pepper, and lots of garlic and olive oil.

Fingerling Potatoes: http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/fingerling_potatoes_with_herb_vinaigrette/

Grilled steak with my dad’s secret seasonings

Lemon Blueberry Trifle: Pampered Chef recipe

Everything turned out wonderful, I highly suggest trying out these recipes for great summer meals! It was a crowd pleaser for moms, dads, AND picky eater siblings.

And don’t forget to tell the women in your life how grateful you are for them!
